Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | There was no written text or sound recording technology in the time that language began to emerge, so that no direct data can be used to study the origin and evolution of language. By studying the existing material, from the viewpoints of information theory and system theory, this paper proposes that language is an optimal encoding system to communicate in the most efficient way. An Information Optimizing Model is described and hypotheses about the origin and evolution of language are made. |
