Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Many real-world wireless channels tend to exhibit impulse responses with a relative small number of nonzero channel taps. Thus, recently there have been many studies on the sparse channels. In this article, we consider blind estimation of sparse channels in OFDM systems. First, we propose an algorithm for nonzero tap detection. The proposed method uses a received correlation matrix based on a cyclic prefix property and can detect nonzero taps successfully even if the first tap of the impulse response is very small. Second, we consider the combination of the detection results and a subspace-based channel estimation method. We expect performance improvement since the number of estimated taps can be reduced. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method by comparing with conventional methods.
