Abstract(in English) We investigate bifurcation of Type 2-periodic solution in a ring of 6 coupled hard-type van der Pol oscillators. As a result, it is clarified that bifurcation of a periodic solution (standing wave solution) to the quasi-periodic solution (propagating wave solution) or that of a quasi-periodic to a periodic solution is due to pitchfork and heteroclinic bifurcation. In addition, existence and bifurcation of the switching solution (a quasi-periodic solution) is also investigated. It seems that death and birth of the switching solution is pitchfork bifurcation of the quasi-periodic solution.
