Abstract(in English) Multimedia communication, e.g., video and audio, via mobile networks is becoming popular because of the mobile broadbandization and the widespread use of advanced moible devices. However, network throughput between a base station and a terminal often fluctuates due to the variation of a radio link quality and the cross-traffic in mobile networks. The unstable throughput causes data loss and data arrival delay; therefore, interruptions due to buffering and image and audio degradation often occur. Consequently, it is important to analyze and estimate the throughput dynamics of mobile networks. Our previous study has found out that the throughput dynamics has the viscosity and the elasticity, and proposed an analytical method of the dynamics by the viscoelastic material model (VMM). In this paper, we point out that the VMM often analyzes the throughput only with a low accuracy in mobile networks, and propose a novel analytical model that fits in mobile networks. Our proposed model is formed by combining a throughput-CQI (Channel Quality Indicator) relation into the VMM, and it can analyze the throughput dynamics with an accuracy rate of about 60-80% in diverse mobile network conditions.
