Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Today, many intranet business applications are operated using Web applications. Good Web usability is critical to improve productivity of office workers. In this paper, we propose a quantitative usability evaluation system using Web operation monitoring. Our quantitative usability evaluation method is much more easy-to-install and easy-to-expand than the existing qualitative usability evaluation methods such as video recording, human monitoring and group interview. Using the proposed system, we can pinpoint Web usability problems based on a sufficient quantity of user operation logs. Our experimental results show that the system can evaluate the Web usability at the viewpoint which is difficult for the current evaluation systems, and the cost of the 15 times larger scale evaluation is reduced by 68%.
