Abstract(in English) The mobile data communication grows very quickly. A lot of mobile terminals communicate to the Internet with the IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN. Thus, the energy consumption of the wireless LANs is currently increasing. To reduce the power consumption in the wireless LAN, we have proposed the ROD (Radio-On-Demand) wireless LAN, which provides the power saving schemes on the basis of the utilization of the wireless LANs. In this study, we propose the centralized association management for ROD wireless LAN. In our scheme, the wireless LAN controller assigns the association between APs and STAs for power saving depending on the network utilization. Using simulation studies, we show that the proposed scheme can provide sufficient power saving capability.
