A Study on Device Identification Method in Home Network

Abstract(in English) Trouble shooting of network in homes or small offices, which are not managed rigorously, starts with knowing devices connected to it. To identify diverse devices, this paper proposes (1) a method for identifying device utilizing machine learning method with features extracted exchanged protocols and (2) a method for collecting features of machines as Consumer Generated Media. We evaluated 20 devices and confirmed proposing method identified them properly. We also evaluated contribution of each feature to identification of device.
