Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) One of the major concerns for telecom carrier is how to continually manage and maintain service quality for enhancement of customer satisfaction. However, the management of service quality has become more complex due to diversification of telecom services as well as increasing complexity of network. Since the number of alarms generated by network failures and/or performance failures tends to increase in such a complicated environment, amount of time spent on identification of the root cause of the failures also tends to increase, and consequently, it would lead to deterioration of service quality. To address such issues, this paper proposes a new mechanism of root cause analysis, which enables easy and prompt identification of the root cause of multiple alarms related to resource failures and/or performance failures. The proposed method of root cause analysis was verified in a testbed, and its effectiveness was confirmed by the processing time that would be short enough in a practical operational environment.
