Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, the mobile traffic is increasing rapidly with the spread of high speed mobile device such as smart phones. Therefore, the necessity of the further capacity enhancement in cellular network is demanded. The introduction of small cells such as femto-cell and pico-cell is one of the effective means to meet this demand. In heterogeneous network, where the cells of different size exist, interference among these cells is one of the important issues to be solved. Then, inter-cell interference coordination schemes are discussed in 3GPP (3^ Generation Partnership Project). Relay network, which can support small cell with low cost by introducing wireless backhaul, is also under standardization. Additionally, CoMP (Coordinated multi-point) transmission and reception, which improves average cell throughput and cell edge throughput with multi-node coordination, is drawn attention as one of inter-cell interference coordination schemes for heterogeneous network where overlay among cells is large. In this paper, the trend of standardization in 3GPP on heterogeneous network is introduced.
