Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to remove impulsive noise from color image, two major methods have been proposed; one is to use conditional median filter and the other to use interpolation considering correlation among color components. Median method tends to blur the image, while interpolation method cannot remove noise enough when the occurrence rate of the noise is high. In this paper, a new method of noise removal for color image is proposed by combining the conditional median filter and the interpolation method, compensating the defects of each other. The total system becomes complicated and contains many parameters, but interactive evolutionary computing is applied to optimize the parameters considering human subjective criteria. Computer simulations show the high performance of this filter system in noise reduction of color images.
