Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The author was selected as IEICE Fellow in 2010. The author has been engaged in the research on nonlinear and intelligent signal processing for 30 years and contributed to its development. The nonlinear and intelligent signal processing aims at effective signal processing for multimedia information, such as image and sound, which are recognized with human perception. The author has contributed to the development of a new research field which pays much attention to how information should be processed considering human sense. In this paper, the achievements by the author are introduced including the background, and then how they influence to others is mentioned. Moreover, how the research will continue from now on and what the author is expecting for young researchers are mentioned.
