A Study on the Effect of Color Environment on Psychology and Operating Efficiency

Abstract(in English) It is well known that, the color environment in houses made from wallpaper, etc, has become a factor in determining whether a comfortable living space. If you can do some work indoors, it's believed that the color environment of the room become a factor of the efficiency of work. In this paper, we show the effect of color environment to operating efficiency. Uchida-Kraepelin psychodiagnostic test is adopted as work and is performed on the PC. The answer the Uchida-Kraepelin psychodiagnostic tests in change the background color of the display. We use six colors, red, yellow, green, cyan, blue and magenta. A total of 58 men and women in their twenties participated in the test. From the results, "magenta", "blue" and "cyan" improve the operating efficiency and "red" lowers the operating efficiency. Furthermore, if the subject favors the color environment, the operating efficiency is up. On the other hand, even if the subject is offend by the color environment, the operating efficiency remains unchanged.
