Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, network traffic load is growing explosively. Therefore, all optical networks which use Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology are expected as the next generation networks. In the WDM networks, the effect of Four Wave Mixing (FWM) as one of representative physical impairments is more serious with increasing capacity and/or more multiplexed wavelengths. FWM affects the quality of optical signals not only in a requesting optical path but also in existing optical paths. In general, large-capacity WDM networks have many fibers between nodes. Hence, this paper focuses on FWM based path set-up method including a wavelength assignment and fiber selection method for the multi-fiber WDM networks. The aim of the proposed path set-up method is to decline effects of FWM in requesting paths and existing paths.
