Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) While the performance of node processors in High Performance Computing Clusters (HPCCs) are growing, an interconnection network sometimes forms a bottleneck of the system. Although using expensive dedicated interconnects including System Area Network (SAN) or lOGigabit Ethernet (10GbE) mitigates such a problem, the cost is much increased. Here, a cluster which provides heterogeneous networks consisting of cost effective GbE and high performance 10Gigabit Ethernet is developed. The evaluation using HPL revealed that additional 10Gigabit Ethernet can improve the performance even if its number is not many compared with GbE, thus, the cost-efficient cluster can be built with this approach.
