Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The AKARI project proposes a network architecture called ZNA that is composed of six layers. One of the features of ZNA is that the session layer is introduced between the application layer and the transport layer. The session layer provides the application layer with four types of communication path: regular path, bundled path, spatially-spliced path, and temporally-spliced path. This memo proposes the API and the protocol of the session layer. The proposed API is based on the conventional socket interface so that it is easy to understand. The implementation of a prototype is ongoing.
