Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, the number of users for VoIP services has increased. In wireless VoIP services, the participation of many clients in a WLAN incurs the deterioration of communication quality due to the packet loss, delay and jitter. In voice communication, the packet size influences the packet losses and packet delays. Generally, sending small packets results in, high packet loss rates and short packet delays, and vice versa. However, the detailed simulation experiment shows that the tendency depends on the network congestion level. In this paper, the possibility of high quality voice communications in WLAN environments by setting an appropriate packet size will be discussed.
