Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The electronic triage(E-triage) system developed by our research group is a wireless sensor network, constructed by E-triage tags, which are composed of vital sign sensors and ZigBee modules. For periodic collection of vital signs, we need to design an adaptive mechanism that can cope with frequently changing urgent circumstances in the E-triage system, where we need to study several parameters. In this paper, we have investigated the performance of a simple periodic data collection mechanism using E-triage tags, by tuning the control packet(hello packet) interval and sensing rate. Due to the limitation of real experiments, we have simulated the scenario by using 10 devices. The data delivery ratio of 98% has been recorded while sending data equivalent to that of 100 devices. Adjustment of the interval of control packets according to the node density has been observed to be an important factor. We have also observed that the tuning of sensing rate around each serious node is needed, as the node degrades the performance of the surrounding due to its high sensing rate.
