A proposal of the IP multicast recovery method in the access network

Abstract(in English) With the advent of digital terrestrial broadcasting IP retransmission service, High efficiency and high quality, reliable IP multicast technology is requested. We proposed a method to distribute IP multicast traffic among multiple access edge(IGMPv3/MLDv2 routers) using hash function to improve the efficiency of IP multicast capacity. And, we suggested a first fault detection method using router dedicated query and a first failover switching method using multiple hash forwarding tables assuming the access edge router failure patterns to improve fault tolerance of IP multicast access. In this paper, we present a recovery switching method considering the delivery status after the access edge router fault recovery detection.
