Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Power consumption in the network has been increasing as traffic growth requires high-power network equipments and high-speed lines. Generally, the recent networks often have too many resources to ensure traffic accommodation. As a result, the optimal deployment of equipments and lines is expected to cut down the power consumption in the network. However, the appropriate equipments and lines are different according to traffic routes and volumes. In order to design the power-aware network structure, it is necessary to take account of many factors such as traffic routes, speed of each line, specifications of each equipment. Meanwhile, it is difficult for network engineers to design the network structure manually with careful consideration of various parameters. Therefore, we propose the automatic scheme which designs the power-aware network based on the mathematical programming problem. Finally, some simulations demonstrate network structures derived by the power-aware design and power-saving effects based on various conditions.
