Analysis of Crosstalk Characteristics on Apodized FBG Based Optical Time Spreading Encoder

Abstract(in English) The crosstalk characteristics of fiber Bragg grating based encoder for optical code division multiplexing (OCDM) has been analyzed. The encoder was designed as it was most suitable for a hybrid OCDM and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system. Suppression of the crosstalk was carried out by applying an apodization to the fiber Bragg grating of which optical encoder is composed. It was demonstrated that the OCDM crosstalk and the WDM crosstalk were suppressed by applying an apodization to the encoder. By suppressing the crosstalk using an apodization to optical encoder can be expected to improve the OCDM/WDM system performance.
