Reflective Operation of Cross-Phase Modulation of Intersubband Transition in InGaAs/AlAsSb Quantum Well Waveguide for All-Optical Signal Processing

Abstract(in English) Cross-phase modulation (XPM) efficiency associated with intersubband transition in InGaAs/AlAsSb quantum well waveguide has been examined in the case of facet reflection operation. The probe experiences the pump-induced index change twice, thereby increasing the XPM efficiency two times, compared with co-propagation configuration of pump and probe. XPM-based wavelength conversion at 40Gb/s is demonstrated with clear eye opening.
