Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For low-power consumption and high-capacity transmission in photonic network systems, we have developed optical cross-connect (OXC) systems suppressing the energy consumption at routers. A space-division switch based on Si photonics allows to design optical switches with high integration and low power consumption compared with silica-based planar lightwave circuits. In this report, we have fabricated a 4-port optical switch having three connection states, which provides a function of failure avoidance in a large-scale optical matrix switch.
