Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is important for STBC that all codeword pairs have full diversity protection at high SNR. However at low SNR, no diversity is achieved. Since the frequently occurring codeword errors have full protection at low SNR, the trace of the distance matrix as an Euclidean distance is more important than the rank and the determinant criteria at low SNR. Also, the average PEP for space-frequency coded MIMO-OFDM approaches the performance of narrowband MIMO transmissions over i.i.d. fast fading Rayleigh channels, when the frequency correlation between adjacent tones is small. So this paper presents a new STBC/SFBC is proposed with a good trace criterion using 8PSK for four transmit antennas. The minimum trace of the proposed code using 8PSK is 32.0 and it equals to that of QPSK. Simulation results provide the SER of the proposed code outperforms about 5 dB with two receive antennas, and about 4 dB at SER=10^<-2> with four receive antennas using 8PSK.
