Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Dominant limiting factors on regenerative repeater span-length in linear amplifier repeated transmission system are degradation of signal to noise power ratio due to accumulation of optical noise from repeater amplifiers and inter-symbol interference due to waveform degradation in transmission optical fibers. Phase sensitive amplifier (PSA) has 0 dB noise figure and waveform reshaping effect on the chirped pulses. Therefore, extension of regenerative repeater span-length of amplifier-repeated optical fiber transmission system is expected by employing PSAs as repeater amplifiers. In this study, the regerative repeater span-length is investigated by means of numerical simulation in BPSK repeated transmission system.
