Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The Yuen 2000 protocol provides a data encryption system for optical fiber networks, based on physical and cryptographic noise effects. This data encryption system is called a quantum stream cipher. In a common type of quantum stream cipher, a pseudorandom bit generator and a multi-ary optical signal modulator are installed in the transmitter, and a mapping rule that changes the pseudorandom bit patterns into the signaling bases is used to connect them. It has been reported by Shimizu et al. that a careful design of the mapping rule boosts immunity against correlation attacks. In this paper we demonstrate the immunity of a quantum stream cipher against correlation attacks, employing an irregular mapping rule together with simple randomization techniques.
