| Abstract(in English) | Research through diverse activities such as surveys, discussions, and presentations is generally done using a system environment consisting of a PC and various components including applications, devices, and network connections. Although the ability to acquire a suitable system environment anytime and anyplace would facilitate research activities, it is difficult to do this in practice, especially outside of one's laboratory. Most available methods involve unreasonable requirements and/or a waste of system resources when used to construct a system environment for actual use. A more promising approach is to develop support methods for adaptively constructing a research environment with respect to system constraints. The research reported here has aimed at enabling the implementation of methods used in portable media to assist in the construction of a research environment through analysis of the environment desired by each user, diagnosis of system constraints, decisions regarding the best way to construct each environment, and a clear understanding of the constructed environment. This paper provides a framework of the support methods based on discussion of the requirements for skillful construction of a research environment. |
