Abstract(in English) | Recent studies on PISA tests have suggested that reading comprehension and critical thinking abilities have been cited as one of the Japanese education issues. Though the ability to understand subjects from various aspects is crucial for critical thinking, one-way communication by auditory information sharing has been commonly used in lessons. Based on the findings that the processing speed by visual processing is several times faster than that of auditory information processing, we have developed a lesson support system to share student's understanding visually with digital-pen. In this paper, we report the support system and lesson practices in elementary schools. This system has several features as follows. (1) It can trace understanding processes of all students instantaneously and simultaneously. (2) Compared to Tablet PCs, the installation cost is lower and it requires shorter time to learn how to use the system, (3) Writing process can be stored easily, and we can grasp the thinking processes by analyzing the data. (4) It has a high affinity with existing lesson configurations. |
