Abstract(in English) | Submillimeter-wave propagation characteristics in a three-layer dielectric waveguide containing a thin solid plasma slab were analyzed by means of the Finite Differential Time Domain (FDTD) method. Application of a magnetic field results in a large variation in the power distribution of the propagating wave. The results of the analyses revealed that the existence of four different propagation modes accounts for these variations. The FDTD analyses were also executed on a three-layer structure situated on a conductor substrate. Similar variation of the propagating power distribution was again observed, which indicates the possibility of applying the above waveguide configuration to variable power dividers in the submillimeter wave frequency range. |
