Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) SAR (Specific absorption rate) measurement procedure for wireless communication devices used in close proximity to the human body excluding the ear has been standardized by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission). This procedure is applicable for the SAR measurement of data communication terminals, which are used with host platforms. Laptop PCs are assumed as host platforms in this study. First, numerical modeling of laptop PCs and validity of computational dosimetry were verified with corresponding measurements. Next, 10-g spatial average SARs were estimated on the dimensions of laptop PCs as well as the position of terminals. As a result of calculation, coefficients of variation at 1950MHz and 835MHz were 2.5% and 12.4% for USB-type transmitter, and 16.0% and 19.7% for Card-type transmitter, respectively.
