Uncertainty of Whole Body Average SAR in Infant for Over 1GHz Far Field Exposure

Abstract(in English) We previously showed that our proposed formula with statistical Kaup indices gives conservative levels of whole body average specific absorption rates (WBA-SAR) in infants for GHz-band far field exposure, which can also be calculated from homogenous ellipsoidal models with the same physiques as those of infants for each of their age. In this study, to investigate which one provides conservative estimates, we calculated WBA-SARs at frequencies over 1 GHz in infants aged 9 months, 3,5 and 7 years from the formula for their 0.5-percentiles Kaup indices and median height to compare the results with those calculated from their corresponding heterogeneous infant models and homogeneous ellipsoids. As a result, we found that the formula based on their physique every age provides overestimates in comparison with the FDTD-simulated results, but gives conservative estimates compared to those from the ellipsoids.
