Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In traditional wireless sensor networks(WSNs), it is an important issue that battery power shortage of sensor nodes which are close to a sink node occurs faster than battery power shortage of other sensor nodes. It is because sensor nodes which are close to a sink node have to relay more sensing data packets than other sensor nodes. In order to prolong lifetime of WSNs, it is required to solve the above issue. For decreasing the number of packet transmissions of sensor nodes which are close to a sink node, we propose a prolonging lifetime method for WSNs with coexistence of mobile/static sinks. In our method, a mobile sink orbits a static sink. When the mobile sink orbits the static sink, it can intercept data packets to the static sink node. Therefore, the number of packet transmissions decreases at sensor nodes which are close to the static sink. As a result, the above issue would be improved. Also we performed simulation experiments to evaluate an effect for prolonging WSNs lifetime comparing with dual static sink models.
