Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) using visual evoked potentials (VEPs) induced by blinking photic stimuli have been researched. In our previous study, presentation methods for blinking photic stimulus and analysis methods for the VEP have been studied to extract the adequate characteristics of the VEP for realizing the BCI. In this study, we proposed to use blinking photic stimuli with different phase and to utilize the phase information as well as the power information of FFT for the VEP. Two blinking photic stimuli with different phase were used on the same display in our experiment and availability of the phase information of FFT for the VEP was examined. From the results, it was found that the phase information was available for the BCI to discriminate between two VEPs during gazing at two blinking photic stimulus with different phase.
