Three-Dimensional Micro-Structural Study of Tin Plated Fretting Contacts

Abstract(in English) Fretting corrosion, by which the contact resistance increases, is one of the typical problems occurred in automotive connector contacts. In this report, three-dimensional observations using Focused Ion Beam (FIB) - SEM method have been made for tin plated fretting contacts. With the three dimensional structural transition of the tin plated contacts, contact resistance increase by the fretting have been examined.
