Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multicasting through wireless multihop network, frame losses at wireless link cause the data loss at application layer because of no ACK(Acknowledgement) at both data link layer and transport layer.. The authors propose a novel multicast scheme to reduce packet losses at application layer. The scheme incorporates retransmission mechanism into data link layer, and uses available paths based on IP unicast routing. The experiment of the prototype, in which the proposed scheme is implemented, was conducted using the outdoor large-scale ad-hoc network test bed in Niigata University campus. Expected multicast performance was obtained, validating the effectiveness of the scheme.
