Optimal Polyphase Orthogonal Code Design by Hybrid GA Considering the Distance between Individuals for MIMO Radar systems

Abstract(in English) In this papaer, we propose the algorithm which searches the optimal polyphase orthogonal code in Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) radar systems. The proposed hybrid scheme combines Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Simulated Annealing (SA) and considers the difference between individuals. Because codes whose phase sequences are near two each other are highly correlated in polyphase orthogonal code, these codes are not adequate. However, the conventional GA don't consider phase difference, and generates bad codes. The proposed scheme calculates the fitness based on the cost which calculates cost function and selects first individual by the fitness. Then, it calculates the fitness based on hamming distance which is phase difference between codes and generates the new fitness by adding these fitness and selects second individual. Because the proposed scheme confines search range and maintains diversity to work more effectively. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme can be more effective than conventional scheme by comparing correlation performance among polyphase codes.
