Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we discuss the performance evaluation of transient response of a tracking method to estimate the true value for position and velocity of a target such as an aircraft assuming that noisy target measurements are obtained by a secondary surveillance radar. In aircraft tracking, it is necessary to obtain an optimal transient response. A Kalman filter which estimates position and velocity by using only position measurement has been proposed. To improve tracking performance, we expect to use the position measurement together with velocity measurement as well. In this report, we propose a tracking method which uses a Kalman filter with position measurement and velocity measurement, and compared it with previous conventional method.
