Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The purpose of this paper is to restore present and past street landscapes within Virtual Kyoto. Virtual Kyoto is a historical virtual geographic environment of the historical city of Kyoto, which is 4D-GIS including a time dimension to the conventional three dimensional building and terrain models. These street landscapes will be built onto the Virtual Gion festival. In order to restore the past landscapes we make best use of the past geo-spatial information; large-scale paper maps, aerial photos, cadastral maps, pictures and so on. Moreover virtual landscape includes some Kyo-machiya 3D models we can walk-in seamlessly. |
