Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Large-scale volume data visualization must take into account interactive transfer function control for data mining and scientific discovery. A high-resolution, large display is often used for displaying large-scale volume data, and so conventional input devices such as a mouse and a keyboard are not practical. This article presents ongoing work on an interactive large-scale volume visualization system incorporating a handheld device for interactive control and a particle-based algorithm for volume rendering. With this system, transfer function control is realized with a dedicated graphical user interface on a handheld device. A preliminary implementation of the prototype user interface is also reported.
