Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Recent half century, the pattern recognition technology developed very well. However sometimes we can find a rivivals of old ideas. In this article, we pooint out two examples. First example is called dead zone maximization (DZM) (or well balanced perceptron) that has the same structure of support vector machine. On the other hand, CLAFIC is regarded as a statistical classifier, but original paper derives it from information theoretic recognizer. We would like to discuss direction of our future from these examples. |
