What does smile mean ? Experiment of conversation with visualization of smile

Abstract(in English) Recently, smile recognition technology has been advanced and a lot of cameras with this technology has been sold. The interface design with smile for communication between a person and a person or a person and an artifact will be considered. In this study, the effect of the acceptability which smile have to others is analyzed for future human interface design with smile. For our purpose, conversation experiment with visualization of the process of sending smile from smiler to smile receiver is done. As a conversation situation, face to face conversation and computer mediated conversation are selected. From the result of analysis of principal component, the acceptability which smile have effect to briskness, sociability and sincerity which are impression on conversation.
