Abstract(in English) In this study, we investigated how people reply to irony and praise. Results showed that principal replies to praise are modestly, thank, agree, and smile. Principal replies to irony are apology, and biter smile. Principal replies to praise from misunderstanding are apology, and biter smile. We also investigated the relationships between the reply and listener's personality traits. Results suggested that we adjust the reply and the effects of personality traits differ depending on various contexts.
