Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have proposed the 3D nail art system that extracted finger-nails and overlaid 3D manicure images automatically for mobiles. Conventional methods for skin segmentation are difficult to separate nail area from finger one accurately due to luminance variation which is caused by illuminant direction. In this paper, we propose a robust extraction method based on reflectance property of a nail and symmetry of a finger against illuminant position. The accuracy for nail area segmentation was examined. Experimental results have shown that our proposed method improve the accuracy, which is 10.6% higher than the case of the conventional methods.
