Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Many studies have been done on humans interacting with robots. In order to achieve a more natural interaction is important that people understand the state of the robot. This study aims to detect the nod as the state of a person. In this case, only detection of the vertical face movement on an image is not enough to estimate person's nod because the camera which observe the persons face from a mobile robot may move vertically. In this study, we propose a method for detecting person's nod accurately by detecting shoulders of the person as well as the position of the face.
