Abstract(in English) In this report, random-valued impulse noise removal for monochrome text images is considered. Switching filtering is generally useful for impulse noise removal. Additionally, it can be considered that directional processing is suitable for text images because these consist of lines and curves. In this report, a novel switching median filter which uses directional processing and dynamic threshold in noise detection is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through experiments.
