Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to remove the random-valued impulse noise in a color image effectively, we propose a switching median filter which includes a new method of the threshold auto-tuning. The present method firstly adjusts the threshold of the switching median filter of each component. For the adjustment, the distribution information of the noise signals is employed. The noise removal is then achieved by an ordinary vector median filter with the noise position image, which is obtained by the detector with the adjusted threshold. Through the experiments, the effectiveness of the present method is illustrated.
