Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Sensor network technology can monitor wide area information remotely in real-time, and it becomes widely used for monitoring the change in the nature environment. The purpose of this study is to develop a sensor network which collects ecology information around Streaked Shearwater, as well as to evaluate availability of the sensor network for ecology observation. A developed sensor network observes the returning to the nest by using an infrared sensor, observes the returning of a group of Streaked Shearwaters by using a sound sensor, and measures the temperature in the nest by using a thermometer. In this paper, we report the sensor network developed to observe the Streaked Shearwater, and availability of the sensed data retrieved from the network.
