Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The demand for local realtime information sharing has been increasing particularly. In this system, unlike traditional global information provisioning services via the internet, distributed mobile nodes aggregate the information sensed by them and provide it to users. However, these mobile nodes can exchange the information only when they encounter each other. Because of this limitation, the service quality in the information sharing such as the amount of information and the required time for information collection depends on encounter probability. Random network coding is expected to compensate for the limitation of encounter opportunities of mobile nodes. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate how the buffer capacity limitation and the buffer control algorithm affect the performance of random network coding because storage capacity of mobile devices are strictly limited. We come up with new buffer control algorithms and compare with other classical algorithms by computer simulation.
