Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Hole-assisted fibers (HAFs) in a fiber ribbon have been studied for high-speed transmission in LAN and access networks. Based on the previously proposed structural parameter Sw, which can estimate a bending loss, MFD (mode field diameter, and a group delay variation caused by stress, effects of holes in HAFs on these properties are reported here. Deviation of hole-stricture caused by a manufacturing process is also considered in this report. Influences of fundamental fiber structural parameters(2a,Δ) are also studied using finite element method (FEM). |
