Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For making good use of limited installation space of optical fiber cable, improving installation works by reduction of cable weight, and cutting down on cost by reduction of a quantity of cable materials, reduction of cable diameter and heightening density of optical fiber cable are needed. One of the problems is that loss of optical fiber cable is not stable. The microbending loss is a key factor for high density optical fiber cable, in particular, at low temperature. We realized the optical fiber and the optical fiber cable which had stabilized loss at -45 degree by selecting the UV coating of optical fiber.
