Fast Proportion Digital Control Circuit for DC-DC Converter

Abstract(in English) This paper presents fast sampling and a low cost digital control circuit for dc-dc converter. The dynamic characteristics are improved by the new method. However the cost of control circuit does not increase hardly. The digital control circuit has A-Delay time which is occurred from a conversion time and calculation time. The sampling period is synchronized with the switching frequency in the conventional digital control method. So, the total length of calculation and sampling time is necessary a few switching period. On the other hand, the proposed method has a unique sampling method. The calculation process of P and I-D controls are parallel. Although the sampling interval and points for I-D control are same to the conventional method, the sampling point of P control is shorter than the switching period of DC-DC converter. In this case, the fast low resolution A-D converter is used for P control and the slow time one in used for I-D control. These A-D converters are extremely cheaper than an excellent high-resolution and fast-conversion A-D converter. The experiment results against the step change of the loA-D are discussed. As a result, it is revealed experimentally that the proposed circuit has a fast transient response.
